Hope everyone has enjoyed summer, which is so soon coming to an end. Our fall cleanup, when we remove decorative items from the grounds and turn vases down for the winter, will be October 3rd this year as October 1st falls on the weekend. Please remove any items that you want to keep and not have removed for disposal. As soon as the cleanup has been completed (usually all on the one day), items can be replaced and winter items on easels are permitted. Vases can be turned back up for fall flower arrangements, but we caution families not to leave them up over the winter to avoid possible damage from equipment if they are not visible in the snow.
A sure sign that the fall season has arrived already . . .
We replaced a couple of flowering trees a few weeks ago. One was no longer healthy from age, but the other had been damaged by a deer in a previous fall season when the buck had rubbed his antlers on it to remove his velvet. Wouldn't you know it, one of the new trees became a rubbing for another young buck and had to be replaced a second time!
